Hello My Lovely Heiresses,
It's been a while, I know! But I wanted to treat you to my November Favorites. These are some items I used, maybe over-used, this past November. I'm sorry about the number order, I ended up switching it at the last minute.
1)Emily Post's Etiquette- Purchased through my Nook App- I have been obsessed with Manners and Etiquette lately. I am doing a full research on the subject and decided to start with this highly recommended book. So far it is pretty informative, I should have High-Society Class in No time.
2)Lilly Pulitzer Key Chain- Free Gift with purchase, eBay and Etsy have a few - I kid you not, I woke up and was scrolling through my Instagram as saw that Lilly Pulitzer was giving these away for free with all purchases. I immediately thought I just had to have one. I got to the website and realized I already purchased everything I wanted the week before so I bought some earrings just to get the free key ring. I use it for my office and gym key, because every time I need those keys they are at the bottom of my purse and it takes forever for me to find it. Now I hook this key chain to the key holder of my purse and I don't have that problem anymore.
3) Kate Spade Clutch-(This is an old item, so you will have to try Ebay or Etsy) This is one of my more simple clutches, that I rarely wear, but being my purse was so junky, I brought this out to inspire me to clean it. I rocked this clutch for about a week and only kept my phone, wallet, 1 lip stick, and mints in it. This helped me stay organized for the time being. I loved it so much I may switch it up and wear it more often.
4) Woman's Avie Heeled Boot- Target (Get This Here) - I love these boots because they go well with both cold weather and mild weather. Anyone who lives in Texas knows exactly what I am talking about! I have worn these daily, the support is great, and it easily boosts a casual outfit. The Gold hardware was brilliant! and I love the suede an leather combo!
5) Ro's Argan Body Conditioner- Lush- (Lush)- This is really good for people with dry skin. With the weather changing, my skin could not make up its mind on weather it wanted to be dry or normal. I have extremely dry skin, so when I use this conditioner, I still have to go back and add lotion after my shower, however my skin is still moisturized and holds the moisture from the lotion so much longer. I have the smaller size and it has lasted all month, with some left over.
*** I only use this on my arms and legs. It also works better if you use a Loofah or body scrub prior to applying the conditioner, however it is not mandatory.
6) Dior Mat- Holiday 2015 Limited Edition:508 Fascinate- Sephora Get this Lip Color - This is my Lipstick of the month! Honey let me tell you, I am so in love with this Lipstick. I will admit I bought it solely based off of its looks at first. Trust me it looks this cute in person as well. But the color is also very nice. It comes in 2 other shades at Sephora, and 3 other Shades at Macy's, however I only purchased one. The 508 is the one that I think looked best with my skin tone.
Thank you for reading my post!
Smooches!
Straight Out of Compton #socialitesundays #Moviereview
Monday, August 17, 2015
So this weekend I went to see Straight Out of Compton, and it is by far the best movies I have seen this year. I laughed, I shed a tear, I got angry, I was outraged. I mean the entire movie had me in a trance back to the 90's.
*if you haven't seen the movie, here is your spoiler alert! Skip down to the last paragraph*
I was hooked during the opening scene. I saw a Military Tank with a long pipe attached literally ram into a house that the police suspected to be a Crack house. Granted it was a Crack house, but what made me upset is that they did not check the house prior to destroying it. A warning from a look out went off, as the tank pulled onto the street. The tank and pole charged the house roping the entire front of the house off. A woman who was standing on a table hiding drugs in the ceiling was rammed during the process. I was baffled yet so happy Eazy E got away. This made me think about all the people who were not dealing drugs that had their houses rammed into. Not only that but also all the people who were hurt when they were doing this process. I will definitely be looking more into that as so many questions come to my mind.
I fell in love with the character of Ice Cube who was played by Oshea Jackson jr.. O'shea played the role of his father very well. Ice Cube was very much an independent thinker with the capability to express himself very well. Whether it be through music or through an interview he definitely got his point across, and O'shae portrayed this in the movie. I actually sat and listened to the lyrics of "Crusin down the street in my 64" and the details of the song were so intriguing. That is when I knew what kind of talent Ice Cube really had. To write that song to the point that he was able to tell a story and make everything rhyme but still sound Hardcore Gangsta was simply amazing.
Most of all I admired the struggle and the success of the men in the movie. All of them exemplified, confidence, loyalty, ambition and sex appeal. Whether it was the scene where Ice Cube tore up his executives office for not having his money, or Dr. Dre leaving Deathrow because of the representation that was tarnishing his name, as a business man they realized the only person looking out for them was their selves and if they wanted to be treated and respected as an artist they had to make people respect them as such.
Overall I loved the movie and would watch it again, because it was that good!
Socialite Sunday's: The Woodlands Sole Expo Edition
Monday, August 10, 2015
This Weekend I went to the Woodlands Sole Expo. This is my
first Sneaker Expo so I really did
not know what to expect. I assumed there would be all of these top of the line
sneakers that were exclusive and expensive as hell. Well, I was somewhat correct, there were a lot of different
sneakers, some pairs I have seen before, and others I have never see or heard
of in my life! I did enjoy roaming to the different booths and looking at the different collections the Sneakerheads had to offer.
There were also plenty of other booths there. People were selling, Skincare items, Clothing, Drinks, Personal Training Material, and so many other things. My Favorite was the Scentsy Table. Yes, I racked up on Scentsy Bars and a New Scentsy Warmer at a Sneaker Expo... Problem? I am not a sneaker enthusiast at all so I was thankful for the other booths. Another booth that caught my eye was a man selling English Bull Dogs.
I am realizing it is starting to sound like I was at some sort of Swap Meet. For my bourgeoisie readers, A swap meet is a place that people from different walks of life sell and trade things for an extremely low price. You may refer to them as a Farmers Market of sorts.
Anyway, at the Bull Dog pin, he was selling those babies for $3000.00. I'm sorry, unless the dog comes with a pair of Red Bottoms I'm not paying that much for a English Bulldog. I see those kind of Dogs everyday. There is nothing exclusive about a Bull Dog. He was offering payment plans, but I am sure he left with the same amount of Dogs that he came with.
Of Course I could not go to a Sneaker Expo and Not purchase shoes. I bought some Pink Jordan 4's, that I have had my eye on for some time. I really wanted the Pink and Purple ones, however I could not find them so these were my next best option. Leave it to me to find Pink Jordan's in my size at a sneaker expo. My shopping skill are one of a kind I swear!
Overall I had a Great time, and would definitely suggest others to go out and experience a Sneaker expo! #SocialiteSundays

How to Land an Interview and Nail It [Part 3]
At the Interview
Important Documents
Be sure to bring a few copies of your Resume, Cover Letter, and Application. You would be surprised how often I have attended an interview to find hey did not print these things out. Having a spare resume allows them to see that you are always prepared. I personally print 3 to 4 copies of each in the case it is a board interviewing me. Your resume is also the map to the route of the interview. They will more than likely question you on things that are on the resume.
Other things to do to send the right signal

Other things to do to send the right signal
- Shake your interviewers hand and thank them for the interview
- Make and keep eye contact
- Speak up, and take your time answering questions
After the interview you wait...
To save yourself a headache be sure to ask "when are they looking to make the final decision on the position". Unfortunately, I have no tips on making them make their decision any faster.
I hope this series does you some good! If you have any question feel free to ask me and I will help you out as best as I can!

The Interview
Now a day's, receiving an interview is a privilege. Just because you submit paperwork does not mean you are obligated to receive a call to schedule an interview. I'm sure I do not have to say it, but if you do not get an interview, you will not get the job.
When positions open there are usually multiple people wanting the position. To assure you land an interview, it is acceptable to call the employer and check the status of your application. Their response will usually be along the lines of, "we are still reviewing applications and will be reaching out for interviews at another date." They may take your information down, and go search for your application and give you a call back, or they may say "They have reviewed your information and did not see you fit for some reason or another. Regardless of their response at least you know where you stand with that particular company, and can plan your next step accordingly.
Let’s skip to the part where they say, "They have reviewed your documents and want you to come in for an interview in 2 days." In those 2 days you are to do as much research as you possibly can. Find out the core information about the company, also find out things about the interviewer. You want to seem as relatable as possible. Also, have questions about the position prepare. They will ask if you have any questions for them, and this is the time to be engaged in the interview. Let them know by asking these questions you are fully aware of what is required of you. Some things to question are:
- What is my typical work week like?
- What is the training regimen like?
- Who are the people I report to?
- What type of goals were set for people who previously had this position.
Another important task is to check out the attire the staff wears. We are no longer in the day and age where if you want a job you put on your best Sunday Suit and trolley over to your interview. If you dress too upscale you may be considered "over qualified" (yes, as stupid as it sounds you can be overqualified for a position). Me personally, I take note of what the staff is wearing and dress it up a bit. When in doubt, Women wear a Pencil Skirt that is past the knee with a Blazer and heels. Men, wear a button down and a nice pair of slacks tucked in and belted. Do not be afraid to wear color as you are going to an interview not a funeral. These looks are business casual and should work well with any entry level management position.
** If the position you are applying for is an entry level position such as a cashier, sales associate, food line worker, etc. you should wear a nice pair of Jeans and a nice shirt. These type of jobs usually have a type of uniform for you to wear so this combo is the best for that job.
In Part 3 I will tell you the Must Have you should have at every interview.
How to Land an Interview and Nail it [Part 1]
Tuesday, May 5, 2015
There is no specific formula to landing every interview, however I can get you pretty close with my past experience. Of course this is not fool-proof advice, however it has given me great success. From the age of 16 to 21 I have interviewed for a total of 13 different positions and landed the job for 12 of them. I have also conducted a few interviews and would love to shed some light on that. The inspiration for this post came from my recent job landing with the ever so chic brand Trina Turk.
First things First: Your Resume/Application
As simple or tedious as the application may be sure to fill it out entirely. Also make sure you are truthful as this is a prime source from where some of your interview questions are coming from. Always write neatly and legibly, but most of all use the correct grammar and punctuation. You are wanting to look as hirable as possible without the interviewer having to guess that you may be a good candidate.
The resume is just as important as the application. Most people put together 1 resume for any job. Me personally I customize my resume to fit the field I am applying for. With the majority of my jobs being in Retail and Event Planning, I have 2 resumes that I edit when applying for a job based on the field of the position. On both resume's I always include my last job and current job no matter the field so the interviewer has somewhere to reference my work ethic.

- Objective or Professional Summary
- Education (most current)
- Key Strengths and Attributes
- The description of your past job responsibilities and task
- Try to make these link in with the job you are trying to obtain
- Contact information
Be sure that your application and resume lands in the possession of the Hiring Manager. This is the only person interested in hiring you, anyone else may misplace your documents.
After you have sent over your paperwork the only thing left to do is wait and pray that they call you back for an interview. If a few days go by and you do not hear back from the employer, I have tips in my next blog post that will help get the process moving.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!
Friday, January 2, 2015
So yesterday was New Years and I had so much fun! The dancing, getting dolled up, oh and do not forget the Kissing! I just loved it. Unfortunately, we did not make it to New York this year. My boyfriend and I have been trying to get to New York for New Years for I do not know how long, but there is always next Year!
On New Years, when it comes to my outfit my motto is "Go Sparkly, or Go Home"! Every year I look more and more like the Time Square Ball. I ended up wearing this Black Sequin number I had in my closet. The funny thing is, I was just about to give it away a few weeks back but I am glad I kept it! I had the sexiest Victoria Secret Garter (That too is covered in Sequin) and lined thigh-highs I purchased for my self as a Christmas gift that would have set my outfit over the top in the perfect way, however I did not remember I had them until we were at the party. Needless to say I was annoyed for a split second.
For my foot wear, I wore my favorite Jessica Simpson pointed toe black pumps. The minute I walked into the party, this boho chic styled lady, bent down and grabbed my ankle and told me she had the same shoe, (I'm guessing at her house) however, her pair had a Gold platform where as my platform is more of a titanium grey color (I think...idk what color that is). Slightly Jealous, I said "that was cool", but could not remember if I saw that color at the 2014 Dillard's New Year Sale, which was where I bought mine. If I had, I would have definitely purchased that shoe because I am a gold fanatic . (I must have some Persian in me somewhere down the line)
Overall I enjoyed my 2015 New Year festivities. Of course I also enjoyed my boyfriend's and my trip to Dillard's for their new years day sale, but that is a blog entry in itself. I'm tired just thinking about it. I want to wish you all a blessed and prosperous New Year, and may all of your dreams and desires come true!
Check out my Flipagram below of some moments during the night! Happy New Year!
Respectfully Yours,
